My Dad got me this wonderful new toy a couple months ago….a Garmin 305. It is a running watch, heart rate monitor, AND A GPS!
I just thought I would share my most recent run…

Here’s the progress Joel made this weekend….up next – tiling the shower.
And another weekend project – a coconut:
Step 1: Drill a hole in a coconut. A 24 volt drill helps.
Step 2: Drain coconut water.
Step 3: Place in bag and throw against concrete sidewalk. Pull out pieces and wash.
Step 4: Enjoy! (and put leftovers in a plastic bag in the fridge)
Only in Seattle would people spend $5 for 2 cupcakes from a specialty cupcake store…I think we could have made cupcakes that were just as good at home
(taken with my cell phone)
We had a very productive couple days around the Coffey house this weekend!
Joel worked on the Camry for awhile yesterday and spent a ton of the time on the bathroom – doesn’t it look great??? Our big purchase of the weekend was a new toilet (to be installed later this week)
I got in a couple runs and spent a ton of the time on the yard…I know a picture of the yard isn’t that fascinating – but anyone that saw it before would see what a great improvement it is! (as I was snapping this picture Joel even said “now mowing the lawn deserves a picture?” well yes it does!)
So I didn’t think I liked drop shadows or borders on my pictures – but I think I might be changing my mind! Thank you Windows Live Writer for making posting so easy!
I’m still trying to decide which of my little seed supply to use..so far:
- spinach
- lettuce
- cilantro
- parsley
and in indoor pots:
- oregano
- basil
-thyme
two things have to occur for me to really feel like spring and summer are really here….
1) work has to slow down. which as of today – it has not. i have been treading water since the beginning of february – but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. i just hope i reach it soon.
2) the weather has to get nice again…and so far mother nature has been teasing us with a beautiful day followed by a couple cold/rainy/dark days….followed by a beautiful weekend…and then more rain.
I am patiently (or perhaps not so patiently) waiting.
I’m looking forward to a few weekends of this:
and perhaps a bit of this:
I can’t wait for summer to come!!!
Now that work has slowed down, Joel has been spending a lot of time working on the bathroom. Our master bath started as a toilet and a sink – and about half of the size it is now! (and sadly, I don’t think I have before pictures).
He installed the sink last night, but I haven’t had time to snap a picture of it yet.
a delicious turkey. but WHY do my turkeys always fall apart???
and for Mom and Dad – here is the traditional “sitting in a chair” picture of Christy and me that you requested…don’t we look excited???
Joel’s compliment on Christy’s dinner - “"It tastes weird, but its not disgusting"
Quinoa salad:
this is how much was left after we all ate…..umm….Christy….you do realize there are only 3 of us eating this meal right??? oh well – I guess I can take some for lunch next week…
On Sunday we went whale watching with Joel’s parents. It was a gorgeous afternoon, and we saw 3 grey whales (no pictures of the whales worth showing though).
This is how pictures are shared on the Coffey side of the family.
oops….forgot to take off my sunglasses…
Thanks Greg and Roxann for taking us with you!
Last weekend was BEAUTIFUL ~ and we were lucky enough to share it with Joel’s parents.
First, Joel and his parents went to Bremerton and saw the aircraft carrier (while I was stuck at work for the day)
joel decided that my sunglasses were cooler than his…so he wore them for the day.
Greg and Roxann were glad to finally enjoy some sun after being in snowy Wyoming for so long.
The next day we tried to go to the tulip festival but were about a week too early – so we saw daffodils instead.
and here’s joel again…I think he likes the camera.
We drove up through Bellingham and got to see the Twin Sisters Peaks
oh….and I can’t leave this post without mentioning how much fun we had with all of our quality time in the car.
coming soon …the rest of the weekend - WHALE WATCHING!
