Baby Ezra
I got a chance to take some newborn pictures of Baby Ezra this past Saturday. He was so tiny and perfect!
Thanks Rob and Lucy for letting me spend time with your new addition (and thanks for the cupcakes – Joel and I loved them!)
Click here for all the pictures from our session.
Sneak Peek
One of my favorite shows is “How I Met Your Mother.” This picture reminds me of the episode where a simple pair of baby socks makes everyone go baby crazy.
More pictures coming soon.
Flickr…
Flickr is one of my favorite websites. I have been addicted since I found it over 2 years ago. Not only do I love just browsing through all the amazing pictures on the site or being able to share my own pictures, but I also think it is an amazing research tool.
Researching with Flickr
When Joel and I start planning a trip, he does a lot of research around trying to find us the best deals on lodging and activities and of course we both use trip advisor to find feedback on the places we plan to go….but my little secret research tool is flickr. He’ll mention a place he found a good deal for and I can do a quick flickr search, find a lot of images from the place, as well as a number of people that have stayed there. I’ll send them a quick flickr-mail asking whether they liked the place and more often than not, they respond back with comments on the place as well as other information to consider when planning our trip. The great thing about flickr is that people post their pictures for public viewing, and therefore are usually very willing to respond to questions.
In order to reciprocate all the help in planning trips I’ve received from flickr, I make sure to post our travel pictures and tag them with the resort name/country/date/etc, so if someone else were to research a place I stayed, they would easily be able to find my pictures. I also try to provide as much helpful information as possible if contacted with questions about the various locations.
Right now we are planning a trip to Mexico (Cancun, Cozumel, and Playa del Carmen) for the end of June/early July. If you have any recommendations on things to do or places to see – I’d love to hear them!
Here are a few pictures from our last trip to Mexico – our honeymoon in August 2006 (Puerto Vallerta, Bucerias).
Okay – time to do real work for the rest of the afternoon! Expect a post with pictures from my newborn session in the next few days.

Leavin’ on a jet plane.
Actually I’m flying back to Seattle right now. On a prop plane – not a jet plane. But oh well – that song is what comes to mind.
The Special Olympics was in Boise this past week, and with our heavy workload we didn’t take the time to go to any events, but there were 3 or 4 floor hockey teams staying at our hotel. The team we saw around the most was from Uruguay and they were some of the most energetic, excited people I have met. The Boise airport was more crowded than I can ever remember seeing before, and it has been fun to see people from so many different countries.
Another exciting week of work is over…but I do have more work to do this weekend. I’m excited for my busy season to be over so I can have my weekends back! While I do have to work, I’m still looking forward to this weekend, not just for Valentine’s day (although I don’t really buy into the hype around this holiday), but because I get to do a newborn session for a friend from work’s new baby. The baby was born just over a week ago and I am so excited to meet him tomorrow morning! Look out for an overload of pictures in the next couple days!
And because a post is no fun without a picture – here are a few more fun ones from my engagement session with Laura and John last fall.

Lack of Memory
Apparently I’ve ridden an elephant…..
Still no time to take new pictures, so I thought I’d continue to share some oldies.
Photographs of Old
From a young age I admired all the beautiful old photographs all my grandparents keep around their house. My grandpa decided to have all his old pictures scanned and gave a copy of all the images to everyone in the family. He gave me my copy last fall, and I have spent more hours than I should probably count looking through all the different pictures. I think my hard drive with those images on it is one of my prized possessions. I hope we are able to do the same thing with the pictures on the other side of my family as well.
Since I have been so busy with work this week and haven’t had a chance to take any of my own pictures, here are a few from my grandparents wedding. I should know the year of their wedding, but I don’t, but I believe they are circa 1955.
My grandpa said my grandma was instructing him to smile at his mother in this picture.
Thanks Grandpa for such a wonderful gift!

Baby Nolan
Here are some pictures from my session with Baby Nolan this weekend. I had so much fun spending time with Nolan and Sherri. Nolan was so lively, I can imagine what a fun little guy he is when he’s feeling 100%.
Isn’t he so expressive??? I just love collages like this!
This truck was Nolan’s dad’s when he was a baby. Sherri was so excited to have this included in the shoot.
I loved this antique trunk they had at their house.
Oh – and now that it is Sunday evening, I realized I haven’t gotten done nearly as much as I wanted this weekend because I didn’t want to think about anything besides these pictures. Priorities, right? =)
A Sunday Morning Break
Joel and I had a relaxing Sunday morning with a brief break from work. We made a quick trip to the West Seattle Farmers Market and stopped at Great Harvest Bread Company to share a Sunday morning treat.
Now we are both back to work (luckily from home), watching the Super Bowl Pre-Game events on TV in the background. I’m mixing work from my real job with some photo-editing from my session yesterday. I’m having a hard time focusing on real work knowing that I have so many fun pictures to edit!
